The most common example of radiation is the light coming from the sun. Where heat from the sun’s light is transferred onto our skin which everyone can feel.
Radiation can be used as well in the kitchen such as in microwave ovens where heat comes from “electromagnetic waves” released by the machine.

more about radiation
Radiation is the type of heat transfer which occurs through space.
Radiation is the kind of heat transfer that occurs without the need of heating surrounding molecules but rather directly towards the solid object that stands in the way of the radiant energy.

an example of convection
An example of convection is boiling water. Heat coming from the bottom of a pot, is transferred to water. Molecules of water at the bottom of the pot begin to vibrate and move around, transmitting heat energy as these molecules collide with one another. The energy is then transmitted or transferred from the deeper portions of the water towards its surface. The molecules of water that gain enough energy may escape the liquid form and transfer into the air.
differences and similarities between conduction and convection
The principle of conduction and convection is the same; heat is transferred from an area where there is more warmth to an area which is cooler. (similarities)
Conduction refers to the transfer of heat energy through solids; convection on the other hand refers to the transfer of heat through liquids and gases. (differences)

the concept of conduction
In solid objects like a metal rod, when one end of which is heated, the heat is transferred from the area where the heat is applied to the area away from the source of heat through the movement of the molecules that make up that object.
an example of conduction
When toasting marshmallows on a camp fire where heat may be felt on the stick after a few minutes is an example of heat transfer by conduction.

computers and conduction
In conduction, the idea that different objects have different levels of tolerance for heat are currently being used in computers in order to decrease the amount of heat energy being produced by such objects.
